Getting started

Prepare two revisions

Choose an original and revised drawing for the same component, assembly, or drawing set. Confirm the revision labels, sheet identity, units, scale, and orientation. Use the drawing preparation guide to check input consistency.

Use DXF or vector PDF inputs. Scanned and image-only PDFs are outside the current comparison workflow.

Begin the review

Sign in to caddiff, select the appropriate organization or folder, and create a comparison. Supply the original as the baseline and the revised drawing as the new revision. Keep the original files available throughout the review.

Inspect the drawing pair

  1. Confirm the correct original and revised revisions were selected.
  2. Inspect the overlay and itemized changes together.
  3. Check geometry, dimensions, tolerances, text, and notes against the source drawings.
  4. Confirm the sheet and drawing zone for each issue.
  5. Discuss uncertain changes before resolving them or recording sign-off.
